Inequitable Futures: A Debate & Panel Exploring Equalization of School Funding
The John R. Park Debate Society is pleased to partner with the ABU Education Fund to host a demonstration debate and panel discussion addressing equalization of public school funding in Utah.
What: "Inequitable Futures: A Debate & Panel Discussion Exploring Equalization of School Funding," presented by the John R. Park Debate Society & ABU Education Fund.
Who: Senator Howard Stephenson, Representative Tim Quinn, and Justin Anderson (Vice-Chair, Utah County Democratic Party.
When: Wednesday, January 17, 2018; 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM
Where: Impact Hub Salt Lake (150 S State St, Salt Lake City, Utah, 84111)
Participants in the panel discussion have sponsored or expressed concerns with efforts to address equalization of school funding, including past legislative efforts, expected legislation in the upcoming legislative session, and potential voter initiatives aimed at reforming public school funding in Utah.
In addition to the panel discussion, the John R. Park Debate Society will be conducting a demonstration debate on the resolution, “Resolved: The State of Utah should equalize public school funding.”
