Assistant Coach, Andrew Welhouse, Connects Campus Through Public Speaking Workshops 

Over the past year, debate society coach Andrew Welhouse has collaborated with multiple university offices to conduct public speaking workshops.

On Tuesday May 13th, Andrew assisted the Office of Orientation and Transition with a public speaking skills workshop for approximately 40 university orientation leaders and university staff. This workshop emphasized the importance of speaking confidently, how to effectively communicate a message, and tips for connection in small group communication. Andrew was sought out for his professionalism and experience in public presentation, in part because of his work with the debate society.

In addition to the Office of Orientation and Transition, Andrew has provided the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR) a virtual workshop on research presentation. Watch this workshop here!

Andrew will continue this work with the OUR on Tuesday June 24, 2025 when he presents for the undergraduate research education series. Recorded sessions will be available on demand.
