Debate Society Hosts Annual Beehive Forensics Institute

The John R. Park Debate Society hosted the annual Beehive Forensics Institute (BFI) from July 28th to August 2nd. BFI is an intensive summer course for high school students interested in learning the fundamentals of NSDA speech and debate. This year, the Debate Society provided instruction in Policy and Lincoln-Douglas Debate. During the first five days of the course, students are coached by JRP coaches and undergraduate members and are able to receive University of Utah credit for their completion of the camp. On the final day of camp, students were able to put their new skills to the test by competing against each in other in the summer camp tournament. Winners were awarded scholarships to the University of Utah!

The John. R Park Debate Society is looking forward to hosting the Beehive Forensics Institute again in 2026. Interested students, coaches, and parents are encouraged to watch the society's social media and webpage updates for information regarding the 2026 BFI.
