John R. Park Debate Society Completes 2023-24 Refugee Debate League Season
The John R. Park Debate Society’s multilingual Refugee Debate League has seen immense success, with programs running in the fall of 2022, spring of 2023, and fall of 2023. The league has consisted of three semesters of instruction, three on-campus tournaments, ten scholarships awarded, and opportunities for multiple undergraduate interns.
The Debate Society has now begun recruiting for its next round of classes and looks forward to the fall 2024 semester, which will feature the middle and high school debaters. Participating students complete ten weeks of debate instruction, reserach, and practice before competing in a tournament on the University of Utah campus in December.
