Strands of Meaning

In November 2021 The Debate Society hosted a virtual public event in which John R. Park Debate Society students explored the following resolution: Genetic testing companies should be required to obtain consent to share information with law enforcement agencies.

Following the demonstration debate, a panel consisting of communication researchers Dr. Beatriz Nieto-Fernandez, Charnell Peters, and Daniel Chavez-Yenter discussed the topic of genetic testing and the particular stakes of communicating genetic testing information for BIPOC individuals.
