John R. Park Debate Society Leads the Way in Individual Events in San Diego
The John R. Park Debate Society continued its 2023-2024 competitive season on February 3-4, traveling to San Diego, California to compete at the Gaske Memorial hosted by San Diego State University. Five University of Utah students competed against a field of 17 other schools. Members of the Debate Society appeared in 15 elimination rounds across the tournament, securing five tournament champions, and securing the runner-up spot for the Dr. Paul Gaske Memorial Individual Sweepstakes award. The team will continue its season on February 23-25 at the Western States Communication Association Tournament hosted by Truckee Community College in Sparks, Nevada.
