John R. Park Debate Society Kicks of Championship Season in Style
The John R. Park Debate Society competed in three championship tournaments in the month of March, taking home awards at each. First, the Debate Society attended the virtual International Forensics Association tournament from March 14-15, 2022, reaching both speech and debate elimination rounds. Then, students competed simultaneously at the virtual Asynchronous Speech Championship (hosted by Southwest Minnesota State University) and the Western States Debating Championship & the Womxn and Gender Minority Round Robin (hosted by Regis University and the University of Denver - in Denver, CO) the week of March 23-27, 2022. The team achieved new Debate Society bests at both tournaments with semifinalists at the Debating Championships and a top five finish at the Speech Championships.
The Debate Society will conclude its season at the National Forensics Association Championship Tournament hosted by Illinois State University from April 14-18, 2022.
