John R. Park Debate Society Hosts 14th Annual Beehive Bonanza for High Schools

The John R. Park Debate Society is pleased to host the English Speaking Union’s British National Debate Team during their tour of the United States. Their tour will include a public debate held on the University of Utah Campus.

The oldest student organization at the U takes the top spot

During the opening weeks of the Spring semester, the John R. Park Debate Society competed in 4 tournaments in three states dominating the competition and setting new team records.

On December 2-4, the John R. Park Debate Society completed its Fall 2016 competitive season at the Western Wyoming and Central Wyoming Swing hosted by Western Wyoming Community College and Central Wyoming College.

On November 3-6, the John R. Park Debate Society continued its competitive season at the Robert Barbara Invitational held at California State University-Northridge.

The John R. Park Debate Society kicked off the Halloween Weekend by continuing its competitive season at the Al Johnson Invitational held at Colorado College.

This past weekend, the John R. Park Debate Society continued its competitive season at the Biggest Little City Classic held at University of Nevada, Reno.

The John R. Park Debate Society announced today it is again joining with the ABU Education Fund, an affiliate of Alliance for a Better Utah, to host Utah’s only legislative debates of the 2016 election cycle.

The Department of Communication’s John R. Park Debate Society will be recognized as one of six recipients of the University Of Utah Beacons of Excellence Award.

In 2016-2017, the John R. Park Debate Society will expand its graduate student coaching staff by adding three new assistant coaches to its roster.
